自分の住んでいるところが海抜何メートルか？ というのは意外に知らないもの。自分の住んでいないところに関してはなおさらです。たとえば、ゴールデンウィークの旅行先で大規模な地震にあったら、高台に避難すべきなのかどうなのか？ どこまで避難すればよいのか？ など、わかるはずもありません。
そのようなときにわかりやすいのが、「Flood Maps」です。左上の「Sea Level rise」を調整すると、その高さ以下の地域が青く表示されます。
津波の高さは海抜だけでなく、湾の形状などによっても大きく異なってきますが、だいたいの参考になるのではないかと思います。
